IVF Cost at Dr Erfanian IVF Clinic, Iran
Below is the response that I received to my letter about the IVF cost, IVF success rate and IVF process at Dr. Erfanian IVF Clinic in Iran. A quick response – received the morning after I emailed the letter to them.
The response is very brief and, at the time of writing this, there is no information on the website, which can be found at http://drerfanianivfclinic.wordpress.com/ but Dr Erfanian did answer nine of my sixteen questions directly, which were:
- What is the current success rate for your clinic? (preferably by age as I know that the success rate will be much lower for somebody of my age)
- How many cycles do you perform per year at the clinic?
- What is the maximum age that you treat?
- Are there any fertility conditions that you will not treat?
- What is your embryo transfer policy? How many embryos will you replace at one time?
- What is the basic cost of the IVF treatment?
- What additional costs would / could be incurred?
- What happens to the costs if the cycle has to be abandoned?
- How long would I need to be in Iran for?
Here is the response I received:

as you wrote it is a long list resemble to an inspection any way
1-current success rate =35-40 %
2- cycles = 700 – 800 per year
3- 48
4- yes
5- two routinley
6- 2000 US$ for one IVF cycle, not including anything else.
A complete ART cycle with egg donation cost 10000$ . it include all IVF/ICSI expences , multiple gynecologist visit ,multiple sonoraphy, laboratory tests for you and donor , hospital expences , all drugs and medication and donor fee and also accomodation.
7- laboratory test , hysterosalpingogram and additional probable necessory tests
8- it should be repeat because most of cost is related to medications
9- at least one month

IM from pakistan, muslim age 37 years, married for 8 yrs, I have one daughter age 7 yrs. The mode of delivery was normal. My LMP date is 18/04/2012. My menstrual cycle is regular since last 3 months. I have HTN since 1996. I have Endometriosis in 2007 and had laprotomy for chocolate cyst in November 2008. Since then I am trying to conceive and had ovulation induction thrice but of no use and my FSH is fluctuating between 7 to 22 during this duration. I also had Pulmonary TB in Oct 2010 and got treatment for six months. My husband semen analysis is within normal range and my hysterosalpingography is ok (done in 2012). My age is 43 & my wife is 35
I have sperm problem. I did the 4 times(IVF) three times testicular biopsy for ivf between 2011 to 2014 . Only first times embryo fertilised but it did no Concived.They find 3 or 4 sperm not in good shape and motility. In India Dr. Say it may be due to infection or hereditary.
As per my little knowledge donor sperm permissible in Islam for the needy people (May be with some condition). I mailed to Syed Sistani’s counselor, I got mixed response.
Sir I have spent too much money on ivf please suggests me the right direction. Once I had visited Mashad for “ziarat” Imam Ali Raza.
